Functional Skills Level 2

Passing Functional Skills Exams Level 2 paves the way for university access, apprenticeship programmes, and employment with organisations such as the police, NHS, or QTLS teaching, among many other career prospects. The qualification is regulated by Ofqual and approved by the UK government, ensuring recognition by most organisations across the UK.

MME Exams provides Functional Skills Level 2 exams that can be completed entirely online with remote invigilation. Our exams have no specific entry requirements and are available six days a week (Monday to Saturday), all year round, offering unparalleled flexibility.

Functional Skills Maths Level 2 Exam

The Functional Skills Level 2 exam in Maths lasts for 2 hours. The first 30 minutes is dedicated to non-calculator assessments, followed by 90 minutes of calculator assessments. The exam comprises three core areas:

Using Numbers: Covers the basics of maths, including calculations with decimals, fractions, and percentages.
Common Measures, Shape, and Space: Builds on the skills from Using Numbers and applies them to real-world scenarios, addressing topics like ratios, compound growth, and the volumes of 3D shapes.
Handling Information and Data: Tests your understanding of data through topics such as finding the mean, probability, and interpreting scatter graphs.

Functional Skills English Level 2 Exam

The Functional Skills Level 2 exams in English consist of three stages: a 1-hour reading exam, a 1-hour writing exam, and a 1-hour speaking, listening, and communicating exam. Each exam involves the following:

Writing: Assesses your ability to write clearly and effectively, using correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Reading: Evaluates your analysis of different texts, focusing on their language, structure, and presentational features, while discussing multiple sources.
Speaking, Listening, and Communication: A group assessment conducted via video call, assessing your ability to effectively communicate, speak, and listen.
