The following guide will explain all you need to know about what the disclosure and barring service check is all about.

What does DBS check stand for?

The disclosure and barring service check.

What is a DBS check?

A DBS check is effectively a criminal records check. It was formerly known as a CRB.

How do I apply for a DBS check?

You can apply for a DBS check through Maths Made Easy. Go to our dedicated page to apply.

Do tutors need DBS checks?

Tutors do not need DBS checks by law but it is good practice to have one as it gives parents peace of mind. All tutors who work through Maths Made Easy will require an up to date DBS check.

How much will an enhanced DBS check cost?

The cost of DBS checks vary. At Maths Made Easy we fix the price for the tutors through our service so you know exactly what you are paying upfront. All pricing can be accessed via our dedicated DBS Check page.

DBS checks, formerly CRB’s, are an important part of the Maths Made Easy service as they are one of the ways we help to ensure that parents and students feel comfortable with setting up a course of tuition. For all DBS checks for tutors enquiries please visit the Maths Made Easy dedicated page.
